If  you don’t  want to pay for kindle books, there are two ways you can download free e-books from many websites, such as manybooks.net and read on your kindle. For the 20 best websites to download free e-books, read here.

The easiest way is to e-mail the e-book to your kindle e-mail address. To find your kindle e-mail address, click on menu and select “settings” using the five-way button. You can see your e-mail in the third paragraph.  It costs ten cents to send one e-mail. After you sent the ebook to your kindle e-mail account, open menu and select “Sync & Check for Items”. The book will be downloaded in Kindle format.  You can find the book at “home”.

The second way is to use mobipocket freeware to convert e-books in .pdf format to kindle supported formats such as mobi or .prc. But this software can only be used on PC not on Mac.
